Experts to discuss ‘Immigration: Bridges or Walls?’
The much-debated issue of immigration will be the focus of the first Social Sciences Today Forum at the University of Colorado Boulder. The event, featuring four experts in the field, is scheduled for Oct. 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hellems 201.
Four members of the CU-Boulder social sciences faculty will speak about immigration for about 10 minutes each and then answer questions. The panelists are:
- Brian Cadena, assistant professor of economics
- Jennifer Fitzgerald, associate professor of political science
- Christina Sue, assistant professor of sociology
- Katie Oliviero, American Council of Learned Societies new faculty fellow and visiting assistant professor of women and gender studies
The Social Sciences Today Forum, planned to be a monthly series, is designed to help the public gain broader perspectives and deeper understanding of human society and how individuals related to the community and one another. Immigration is one example of such a topic.
This forum brings the knowledge and expertise of social science faculty to the greater community and allows the community to ask questions of leading scholars.
