Pi Day: Celebrating Women in Math & Science

The CU Women’s Resource Center will host Pi Day: Celebrating Women in Math & Science, on Thursday, March 14th, from 12-1 in the Dennis Small Cultural Center (UMC 457). Women-identified mathematicians, engineers, biologists, chemists, and others from the campus community will be telling their stories. They will share some of the challenges they have faced as women in fields dominated by white men, how they have navigated these obstacles, as well as how other aspects of identity other than gender (race, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, etc.) have affected their personal experiences. We will also talk about what professional projects they are currently exploring, and what advice they would give to current undergraduate women aspiring to careers in math & science. Refreshments will be served.
