The Women and Gender Studies Program awards 3 undergraduate student scholarships each spring, with the scholarship award amounts applied in the following academic year (Fall 2013/Spring 2014). Not only can a scholarship provide valuable funding toward your 2013-14 tuition bill, it is also an impressive credential to add to your resume! The application process is straightforward. Attached are descriptions of the 3 scholarships, including selection criteria and application materials required. Award amounts vary from $500-$3,000 for the academic year.
A few things to note:
- The APPLICATION DEADLINE is 5pm on Friday, MARCH 1. Materials should be submitted to the Women and Gender Studies Program office in the Gates Woodruff Cottage (or by email to email@example.com).
- Two of the scholarships are only open to majors, but the Susannah Chase Memorial Scholarship is also open to minors or students who “show a strong interest in women and gender studies.”
- You may apply for more than one scholarship (with the same application form). Circle each of the scholarships for which you are applying on the application form. You must submit the required supplementary materials for each scholarship for which you are applying.
- Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the scholarship award ceremony (during our program commencement event) on Thursday, May 9, 1-2:30pm in Old Main Chapel. Award recipients will be notified well in advance.
