Rocío is a PhD student from Sevilla, Spain, specializing in Medieval and Early Modern Spanish Literatures. She completed her BA in English Studies and MEd before pursuing an MA in Peninsular and Latin American literatures in the US. Rocío is passionate about exploring gender and identity in literature. Her thesis will focus not only on female writers but also on nuns who used writing as an escape and expression during an oppressive time for women writers.
