Communication
Yitong is currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Communication. She previously earned her master's degree at Peking University in China. Her research focuses on exploring the representations of race and gender in popular media, and the subsequent impact on the formation of stereotypes and counter-stereotypes. Additionally, she is interested in investigating the strategies employed by Asian/woman communities to resist those stereotypes, with a primary aim of reducing the perpetuation of gendered and racialized hostilities.
